  Air Freight Cost Calculations
Air cargo costs is based on either the gross weight or volume weight, whichever is greater.
Gross Weight: actual weight of cargo (lbs or kgs)

Volume Weight:
[Width (in) x Length (in) x Height (in)] / 166 = Volume Weight (lbs)
[Width (in) x Length (in) x Height (in)] / 366 = Volume Weight (kgs)

[Width (cm) x Length (cm) x Height (cm)] / 6000 = Volume Weight (kgs) x 2.2046 = Volume Weight (lbs)
Above conversion ratio is based on IATA (International Air Transportation Association) The Air Cargo Tariff Rule, Chapter 3.9. Computation of Charges.
  Other helpful conversion rates:
cm / 2.54 = inch
lb / 0.45359 = kg
kg * 2.2046 = lb
cubic feet / 35.32 = cubic meter (cbm)
